Kim Kardashian Pregnancy Cost
When Kayne West made an unplanned announcement about Kim Kardashian's pregnancy, he may have cost the Kardashians up to a half a million dollars. There could be even more money at stake. Some pundits have suggested that the proud baby daddy might have to prove his paternity to avoid Kris Humphries from claiming the child as his own. That's because when a married couple has a child, the husband is presumed to be the child's father. And despite filing for divorce only 72-days after their extravagant wedding, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries remain legally wed--and may remain so until after she has West's baby. No one is really suggesting that Humphries would try to claim the child as his own--but he might use the legal complication as ammunition in his negotiations. While the Kardashian-Humphries divorce proceedings have been put off until February, most analysts believe the biggest fight will come down to Humphries' allegations that the entire marriage was a fraud put on for ratings and financial benefit. Humphries may prefer an annulment because it would vacate the marriage and the pre-nup (along with its confidentiality agreement)--plus he might get the $2 million ring back. According to divorce lawyer Louis L. Sternberg, Kardashian's pregnancy might increase the likelihood that she'll agree to settle and might even embrace the annulment idea. After all, if Kardashian wasn't legally wed to Humphries then her relationship with West wouldn't be adultery (still illegal in jurisdictions like New York), and there would be no question about the relationship--legal or otherwise-- between Humphries and the baby.
